PRIMI PIATTI-Appetizers
 
   PASTA CU LI SARDE MILANESE
This is a layered dish, not unlike lasagna. For our menu, I have cooked bucatini-small hollow macaroni-with a classic sauce of fresh sardines (they're about six inches long), fennel, pine nuts, raisins, tomatoes and bread crumbs

 
  
   Caponatina Malanzana (cold appetizer)
Eggplant, sauteed in olive oil and served with a sauce of tomatoes, pine nuts, capers, raisins and a little red vinegar

 
  
   PASTA A LA NORMA
Rigatoni pasta (homemade) served with tomatoes, ricotta cheese, eggplant, fresh basil, garlic and parmesan cheese

 
  
   FAVA BEAN SOUP
Fava beans are the "lucky beans" that are always part of St. Joseph's altars. Forth is menu I've turned them into a soup with leeks, onions and homemade chicken stock.

   TONNA MARINARA
Fresh tuna sauteed with capers, tomato, regeno, basil, chopped olives & bread crumbs

 
  
   PESCE SPADA A CHIOTTA
Enjoy our fresh swordgfish. It h as a dense, beefy texture and an excellent flavor. We steam it in aauce of olive oil, tomato, garlic, green olives, celery, capers and bay leaves.

 
  
   TRIGLIA ALLA PALERMITANA
Palermo is the great city of Sicily, and from it we takei this treatment of red snapper-one of my favorite fish, and a great match for the sauce of anchovies, rosemary, lemon, bread crumbs and parsley.

 
  
   ZUPPA Di PESCE ALLA TAORMINA
Fresh seafood; mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, lump crabmeat, squid; lightly sauteed with onion, garlic, crushed red pepper, whit ewine, herbs, plum tomatoes & served with linguini

 
  
   CAPRETTO MESSINESE
Baby goat is a delicacy throughout Italy, but especially in Messina on the Island of Sicily. This is a delectable, saucy dish of the tender meat of the kid with white wine, potatoes, rosemary, garlic and tomatoes. It has been years since the last time capretto was served in New Orleans and I highly reccomend it to you tonight.

 
  
   ARAGOSTA SICILIANA (2 lb. lobster)
Fresh Maine lobster sauteed with olive oil, white wine, olives served with a light tomato broth. MARKET PRICE

Tis delicacy so familiar to Armenians; a shell made from flour and marsala wine, stuffed with ricotta cheese, pistachio nuts, candied fruit and chocolate. This is the ultimate Sicilian dessert.
